No matter how young we are, aging is an automatic process. How healthfully we age is another matter entirely. We do have control over our lifestyle choices which can bring vitality and youth to our later years or we can become a statistic of ill health depending on drugs to keep us going. I prefer vitality over futility any day. Here are 8 exercises to reduce the aging process.

  1.         Walking Studies show walking three times a week can protect against dementia and reduce  chances of getting it by 1/3.
  2.         Tai Chi    This graceful martial art improves balance and therefore helps to prevent falls. It also increases our sense of well-being.
  3.         Yoga  Seniors can benefit greatly from regular yoga as it helps reduce body fat, systolic blood pressure, sleep disturbances, along with improving balance, endurance and overall fitness.
  4.         Jogging With the right shoes and jogging surface to reduce heel strike,  this exercise protects against memory loss after an illness.
