Foods and moods go hand in hand. To be aware of how certain food ingredients affect our body’s chemistry, can help with weight gain, skin eruptions and mood swings.

The BIG 3 are sugar, fat and salt since their influence on body chemistry can affect us drastically. Women are more likely to feel the effects of these three than men. Women are also more likely to binge eat when sugar, fat, and salt are consumed in excess.

Here are 10 foods most notorious for affecting body and mind in a negative way.  In the countdown, #1 is the most harmful.  Be warned, most readers are not going to like the list especially since the holidays are coming!

10. White bread – has virtually no nutrition because the wheat used for baking it has been stripped of the bran and germ which carry the most nutritive valve. Consume whole wheat instead.

9. Donuts- -a lethal combination of sugar, deep fat fried white flour, and salt. These raise the body‘s blood sugar level and can damage the pancreas when constantly consumed. Leave them alone.

8. White pasta–again, white flour is “glue” inside the body, a filler with little nutrition. Use whole grain instead.

7. Cake- -sugar, fat, salt. Need I say more? Instead make cakes with whole wheat flour, natural ingredients and spices.

6. Chips- most packaged chips are ridiculously high in fat and salt. Instead read labels on healthy organic brands and combine with healthy salad or other whole food items.

5. Cookies- -unless made with whole wheat flour,  honey, sea salt and other natural ingredients they are bite size “junk”.

4. Chocolate –most products are milk chocolate. Stay away from it. Instead, look for 70-100% dark chocolate or coco tea which are better for the body because more of the nutrients are intact.

3. French fries- -if you ever want to cringe, do some research on the frozen French fry ingredients.   The amount of chemicals and non-food aditives are poison for the body. Instead make your own and use cold processed oil to fry them if you must.

2. Candy- – most is completely white refined sugar which is a poison to the central nervous system.

1. Ice cream—yes, I know this one is hard to take but look up what is actually in ice cream and you will be shocked by the amount of chemicals.

Happy Holidays!!
