Dr. Janet Taylor of Quantum Leap in Wotten Waven and Debbie Shillingford of Leaf of Life in Roseau, joined together for a Valentine’s Day special with a healthy focus. Dr. Taylor provided muscle scans (Surface Electromyelogram) to locate where nerves may be trapped to the muscles causing many different kinds of symptoms. Since Valentine’s Day represents love, both ladies felt love is better expressed when one is healthy.
Local patrons of the Leaf of Life store filled out a stress survey, paid a small fee for the scan, received a report and copy and then Dr. Taylor did muscle balancing to alleviate much of the problem. She also presented the participants with a coupon to redeem at her office for a free adjustment to realign the spine and allow the nerves to send clear messages to the muscles and rest of the body.
Both Dr. Taylor and Ms.Shillingford are members of Dominica-Spa, Health and Wellness Association a newly formed organization whose mission it is to unify the diverse alternative products and services offered on Dominica. Ms. Shillingford rents shelf space for just such products and Dr. Taylor is the only Doctor of Chiropractic who is a permanent resident on the island. She has been wholistically oriented from the inception of her practice on Dominica in 2003 and offers a lifestyle assessment of her patients to upgrade any areas of neglect.
