I just read on the internet that the U.S. medical system is recommending people 60 and  over get a shingles vaccine.  Shingles is the term for herpes zoster, the varicella –zoster virus which causes chicken pox.  Shingles is a very painful inflammation of one nerve at a time with resulting blisters that erupt on the skin.

The symptoms range from chills, fever, headache, upset stomach and an anxious feeling.  If you’ve had chicken pox it is said the virus lies dormant in the nerve tissue until it is triggered by physical or emotional stress that weakens the immune system.  Adrenal gland and/or liver exhaustion can be part of this too.

The first sign is a burning or tingling pain, numbness or an itch in one particular location on only one side of the body.  After a few days the blisters develop with increasing pain along the nerve. This can last 3 to 6 months or over a year.  Not a fun disorder to deal with.
